Dil to Pagal Hai is one of the popular Bollywood movies released in 1997. It was a transition period in the Hindi film industry when some new artists were replacing the older ones. The role played by Shahrukh Khan as a dancer and the director of a successful music and dance troupe is really commendable. While Nisha falls in love with Rahul, he secretly falls in love with Pooja. He was not aware that she was engaged to Akshay Kumar. The movie reaches its climax when Nisha gew jealous about the close mingling between her best friend Rahul and Pooja and decided to leave India. Like most other Bollywood Romantic Movies the story ends on a sweet note as Pooja and Rahul reconcile.

Dil to Pagal Hai which earned the second highest revenue for the year 1997 is a receiver of a number of awards. Music of the film is given by Uttam Singh and he has gifted some melodious songs. He won the award for Best Music Director. The movie Dil To Paagal Hai has the credit of winning 1998 Filmfare Awards for best film, best actor (Shahrukh Khan) and best actress (Madhuri Dixit). It also surpassed its competitors in the field of supporting actress (Karisma Kapoor), Art Direction (Sharmishta Roy) and others. Many national awards were rewarded to this film.
