Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin is a movie that is still considered one of the most famous romantic Bollywood movies to have been made. Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin was released in the year 1991 and went on to break all box office records.

Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin was directed by the famous Bollywood director, Mahesh Bhatt. It was produced by Gulshan Kumar. The star cast of the movie included Aamir Khan, Pooja Bhatt, Anupam Kher, Sameer Chitre, Tiku Talsania, and Deepak Tijori.

Pooja Bhatt, who played the female lead in the movie, was the daughter of Director Mahesh Bhatt. Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin was her debut movie. Though the main star of the movie was Aamir Khan, Pooja Bhatt definitely won the hearts of many with her lithesome and graceful performance.

The story of Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin started with a young girl named Pooja Dharamchand, played by Pooja Bhatt. She is the spoiled daughter of a rich Mumbai shipping tycoon, Seth Dharamchand, which was played by Anupam Kher.

Pooja is madly in love with a movie star Deepak Kumar, played by Sameer Chitre. But the stone in her side was that her father was completely against her affair.

One day, Pooja escapes from her father`s yacht and runs off to Bangalore where she knew that Deepak Kumar was shooting for a movie. On her way, in a bus, she meets a poor and down on his luck man named Raghu Jetley, played by Aamir Khan. Raghu is a loud mouthed but honest reporter who is literally on the verge of loosing his job. Raghu learns of her escapade and smells the promise of a spectacular story out of her plight that could turn his luck around.

When the bus breaks down in the middle of their journey, Raghu strikes a deal with Pooja. He tells her that he would help her reach her destination if in turn she gave him the rights to an exclusive story on her. Pooja agrees unwillingly as Raghu threatens to tell her father about her whereabouts.

As they set out on their journey together, Raghu and Pooja come across a number of adventures that shapes their feelings and attitude towards each other. By the end of their travel they end up falling in love with each other. Raghu realizes the futility of his feelings as he is in no financial condition to marry Pooja. A number of misunderstandings also threaten to tear apart their relationship. Pooja ends up thinking that all he wanted from the starting was to get his hands on the reward money that her father had promised..

But, everything falls into place in the end. Pooja realizes her folly and abandons her fiancée on her marriage day to run back to her true love, Raghu Jetley.
