Dhai Akshar Prem ke is one of the finest Bollywood romantic movies. The movie Dhai Akshar Prem ke was released on 29 September, 2000 and has real life couples Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachaan in it. The plot of Dhai Akshar Prem ke revolves around Karan Khanna who is an orphan and a captain in the Rajputana Armed Forces. He is crazy about the beautiful model Nisha, played by another star of Bollywood, Sonali Bendre. Karan wishes to get married to Nisha during his next leave and so sets out on his way back to home from his work place.
On his way to Nisha, Karan Khanna accidentally comes in contact with Sahiba Grewal, the role played by Aishwarya Rai. She is an eye-witness to a murder and a girl on the run. Fearful and panic-stricken, Sahiba finds an unexpected savior in Karan who rescues her from a group of criminals and stops the criminals from killing her.
Sahiba is the daughter of the stern patriarch and industrialist Yagvendra Grewal. Yagvendra wants to see his daughter settle down fast in life and hence chooses his friend's son for his daughter. When Karan brings Sahiba back her home, Sahiba's family members thinks him to be Sahiba's husband. Sahiba's grandmother, her jovial uncle and aunt all likes Karan very much and accepts him as Sahiba's husband, except his father.
Initially, Karan is eager to get out of this situation so that he can meet Nisha, but later he stays in Sahiba's home, when drawn by their love and friendliness.
Gradually, Sahiba falls in love with Karan. When Karan decides to leave, Sahiba tells him about her love and begs him not to leave. However, he goes away without paying heed to Sahiba's request.
As Karan meets Nisha, he discovers that she is already married to man she likes and that Karan is just a friend to her. Karan is overcome with grief and guilt for leaving Sahiba for Nisha and hence decides to go back to Sahiba.
Finally after several twists and turns, the couple unites at the end of the movie, Dhai Akshar Prem ke and lives happily ever after.
