Bollywood industry boasts of having produced some wonderful movies for its movie lovers. The industry was in its boom period during the 1970s and 80s which witnessed a production of a good number of movies. Anamika is one such movie which has remained as one of the greatest romantic movies ever made. This romantic movie of 1973 is directed by Raghunath Jalani. The director must be given the credit for his masterpiece treatment of the plot. The movie Anamika is a story of a misogynist writer (played by Sanjeev Kumar), who discovered Jaya Bhaduri, who was thrown from a speeding car with her hands tied and her mouth gagged. The story continues as the girl was taken to Sanjeev Kumar`s house. She lost her memory and claimed herself as the writer`s wife. Since the writer could not know her name, she called her Anamika (Girl without a Name).



As we reach the climax of the movie, we find the girl suddenly desert the writer and move into oblivion. When Sanjeev Kumar sees her again at a party, she did not seem to recognize him. The writer started off to an errand to find out the identity of woman. Anamika has achieved such success not only because of its storyline, but also due to excellent acting of both Sanjeev Kumar and Jaya Bhaduri.

Those who have watched the movie must have wonderful experience watching these two talented actors dancing to the sonorous songs like Bahon Mein Chale Aao, Meri Bheegi Bheegi Si and many more. There are not many Bollywood Romantic Movies which has got the dual combination of such wonderful acting and unforgettable sentimental songs. Memorable music composition of R.D. Burman in Anamika and enchanting voice of Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar make the songs a real hit.

Since Anamika is considered among the top Romantic movies of Bollywood, it has received a global recognition. Apart from having an interesting story to narrate, the movie has certain touchy scenes where you will be compelled to feel for them. Other supporting actors like Iftekhar, Asrani, Ashoo and Helen also played their respective roles quite efficiently. While talking about Anamika, it must be said that Bollywood industry is grateful to the director Raghunath Jalani for having made such an intense movie.
