An Evening in Paris being one of the all time Bollywood hits is a 1967 movie which was produced and directed by Shakti Samanta and the story of the movie was penned by Sachin Bhowmick. This Bollywood movie of the late 1960s stars the popular actors Shammi Kapoor, Sharmila Tagore as the lead protagonists and Pran as the villain in the movie.
Though the story of the movie revolves around Sharmila Tagore and Sammi Kapoor romancing around in Paris the plot of the story deals with the typical Bollywood romantic action movie concept. Sharmila coming from a rich family travels to Paris in search of love and meets Sammi Kapoor with whom she falls in love instantly. Pran (Shekhar) plays the character of Sharmila`s Father`s secretary`s son who is stepped deep in debt due to his gambling habits.
In order to save his life from his boss Jack played by K.N Singh, Shekhar tries to impress Sharmila (Deepa) into marrying him but he fails. One day in Jack`s club he sees Deepa`s twin sister Roopa alias Suzy who was kidnapped in childhood and became a club dancer.
Shekhar immediately cracked the plan of kidnapping Deepa and placing Suzy in her place. Initially for the few days even Sammi Kapoor (Shyam/Sam) couldn`t recognize any difference between Deepa and Suzy but after a few days he felt that she was behaving differently.
In the mean time Deepa`s father lands up in Paris and Sam tells him that the girl in the house is not Deepa and Deepa`s father realizes that Suzy is actually Deepa`s twin sister who was kidnapped when they were kids and her real name is Roopa. Initially Roopa doesn`t believe that Deepa is her twin sister only to realize later that actually they are sisters.
Roopa helps Sam in rescuing Deepa and in the process Jack shoots Suzy thinking that it`s Deepa but at the end Deepa and Sam succeed to escape and Suzy or Roopa also survives her injuries after she was taken to hospital. One of the main attractions in this movie are the locations in Paris including climax of the movie which was shot in the vicinity of Niagara Falls.
