Over the years hundreds of great romantic movies have been made in Bollywood that are still very much popular among the people of the nation. Based on sweet romantic stories these movies have earned huge commercial success. Akele Hum Akele Tum is one such film. For its touchy story, great performance by the renowned actors and some excellent songs, Akele Hum Akele Tum is one of the best romantic movies ever made in Bollywood.
Akele Hum Akele Tum-the movie was released in the year 1995 and is considered as a Hindi musical drama. The movie did a great business in the cinema halls and made people coming out of the halls with tears in their eyes. Though like many other romantic movies, Akele Hum Akele Tum has got a happy ending, the journey towards the end is quite pathetic and this makes it popular even today years after its first release. Watch the movie once and see how it touches your heart.
The story of Akele Hum Akele Tum is certainly a major reason behind its huge popularity. In the movie, Rohit Kumar is a singer in a hotel and Kiran is a girl learning classical singing. They meet each other in the hotel on the occasion of New Year's Eve. It was a love at first sight. The relationship between them matures and as they find their goal in life to be same they decide to get married. Kiran's parents oppose the wedding and they decide to live separately.
After a few years, Kiran finds that she has been suppressed by her responsibilities in the house and for her son Sonu (played by Master Adil) and is not getting any chance to concentrate on her career. She leaves Rohit and Sonu and goes back to her parents and gets a breakthrough as an actress. As Kiran succeeds in establishing her career she decides to get back the custody of her son.
The bitter relationship between Rohit Kumar and Kiran turns into a legal battle and finally Rohit looses the custody of his son. How Rohit struggled to take care of his son, how he managed to get the money for fighting the legal battle and how he breaks down at the end are things that have made the film a memorable work of art. But the climax of Akele Hum Akele Tum doesn't show Rohit loosing his son. Then what does it show? To know the answers, you have to watch the movie till its very end. The movie also portrays the sweet relation that exists between the son and the father.
Apart from the mind blowing performances by Aamir Khan and Monisha Koirala, Akele Hum Akele Tum will always be remembered for some great songs like Akele Hum Akele Tum, Raaja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya, Dil Mera Churaya Kyun and Aisa Zakhm Diya Hain.
