Story of Aa Ab Laut Chalen

Akshaye Khanna plays the role of Rohan Khanna who comes to New York to find work. He is highly educated but unemployed. Aishwarya Rai plays the role of Pooja Walia who comes to New York to meet her prospective groom whom her NRI brother had arranged for her. However, she realizes that her husband-to-be is not a man of good intentions and refuses to marry him. This enrages her brother and sister-in-law. She escapes from her brother's house.

Rohan meets Iqbal, Chaurasia and Sardan who gets him a job as a taxi driver in New York. He also shares rooms with them. He meets Pooja who does not have anywhere to go after escaping from his brother's home. He brings her to stay with his friends. Pooja falls in love with Rohan. However, Rohan wants to marry a rich, greencard holder and get settled in New York. When he meets Loveleen played by Suman Ranganathan he realizes that his dream would finally come true. Loveleen is a rich girl. He is not aware that Pooja loves him.

When Loveleen refuses to marry him he realizes the worth of his middle class friends including Pooja. Pooja then manages to get Rohan a job in her boss's business played by Rajesh Khanna. There is a subplot in the story. Many years ago Rohan's father Balraj Khanna( Rajesh Khanna) died in an accident as told to him by his grandfather and mother. However, it was not true. The story ends with Rohan uniting with his father. He accepts Pooja's love and he comes back to India with his father and Pooja.

Aa Ab Laut Chalen is a must-watch for NRIs or any person living far away from his home country or home town.
