Manthan is a popular Hindi movie which received much critical acclamation from several film experts and critics. The story tells about a young urban group of farmers and milk co-operation workers who were involved in a revolutionary act for securing their rights. They were led and supported by a veterinary doctor, Dr. Rao, who came to the village to help these people and start milk co-operative. The doctor realized that if he could successfully bring together the majority of the poor villager, farmers and milk workers, he would be succeeded in his goal.

To achieve his goal, he selected a natural leader amongst the villagers called Bhola. Bhola was initially not interested with the interference of the outsiders and suspected them as exploiters. But gradually he relied upon the doctor and helped him achieving his goal of forming the milk co-operative. This interesting screenplay of Manthan, the Bollywood movie, has made it stand amongst the greatest movies.
