Nitin Manmohan`s `Chal Mere Bhai`, released in 2000, is one of the renowned Bollywood comedy movies. Directed by David Dhawan, `Chal Mere Bhai` is the story of two brothers, Vicky (Sanjay Dutt) and Prem Oberoi (Salman Khan) and how their lives are turned upside down by a girl named Sapna (Karisma Kapoor). `Chal Mere Bhai` is sheer entertainment with some belly-churning fun and comedy.

Vicky, who runs his family business, is a business tycoon. When he needs a secretary he meets Sapna, a girl who has lost her family and has moved in with her uncle and auntie. Though she doesn`t have the required experience to be Vicky`s secretary, Balraj Oberoi, Vicky`s father, is impressed by her charm and passion.

Prem is an aspirant actor, much to the chagrin of Balraj. He would like Prem to also work for the family business. However, Prem`s grandmother and Vicky support his decision to be an actor.



Sapna`s career as a secretary has gone through stumbles and mistakes at first. She is so nervous around Vicky that she makes numerous mistakes. But when Vicky is attacked after work, it is Sapna`s fast thinking and presence of mind that saves his life. Vicky`s family becomes fond of Sapna very quickly and Prem especially. Prem and Sapna fall in love with each other. But before Prem can tell his family, Sapna`s auntie and Prem`s grandmother arrange for Vicky and Sapna to be married.

Sanjay Dutt`s portrayal of the conscientious and ever-understanding brother is quite good. For Salman Khan, the movie is the perfect stage. He probably feels at home doing such roles. Karisma Kapoor looks gorgeous.

The title song sounds quite funny. The original track, sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Lezz Lewis, too has been picturized perfectly.

David Dhawan, the director has always focused on making entertainers and `Chal Mere Bhai` is also no exception. The comedy movie of `Chal Mere Bhai` is about the two brothers who love each other very much and will do anything for one other. They joke, exercise, play pranks together and even happen to love the same girl. `Chal Mere Bhai` is supposed to deliver a message on love, brotherhood, sacrifice and family values. We can sum up in the quotes of the producer Nitin Manmohan, "It is not a typical David Dhawan film. Although it has some slick editing just like other David Dhawan films, there is a considerable difference as far as the content of the movie goes".
