Malamaal Weekly is one of the popular Bollywood comedy movies. Starring Paresh Rawal and Om Puri, the 2 very famous actors of Hindi cinema, the film Malamaal Weekly was a great hit at the box office. Priyadarshan is the director of the movie. Malamaal Weekly is a Bollywood comedy film which was released in the year 2006.
The story of Malamaal Weekly centers around a place named Laholi. Laholi is a small rural village in the country of India. The residents of Laholi are poor as well as simple-living. Thakurain who was the landlord controlled the lives of the villagers. Baj Bahadur was the brother of Thakurain. Lilaram was a man with good educational qualifications. But, despite his educational qualifications he was jobless.
Lilaram in the movie Malamaal Weekly has been played by Paresh Rawal. He sells lottery tickets to earn his livelihood. Malamaal Weekly, the Delhi-based lottery ticket was also sold by him.
On one fine day, Lilaram finds out that one of his customers is a winner. He decides to invite people for a feast to get back their lottery tickets.
In the feast only Anthony Fernandes was absent. Lilaram goes to the home of Anthony Fernandes and finds him death on his sofa. He was holding the lottery ticket hard. Lilaram tries to get back the ticket from Anthony Fernandes's hand. As he was busy doing that Balwant suddenly arrives there. He asks Lilaram to give him his share from Rs.1 crore lottery ticket.
In Malamaal Weekly, as the story unfolds, many people including Mary, her husband, villagers, business men and Kanhaiya were made partners of Rs.1 crore lottery ticket. In the movie Malamaal Weekly the efforts of people to get the lottery ticket has been beautifully shown.
One day inspector Jayesh played by Arbaaz Khan comes to the village of Laholi to find the truth about lottery. There are various comic scenes in the movie. Paresh Rawal has written great dialogues for the movie.
