Ishq is a Bollywood film that was released in the year 1997. The film went on to become a huge success due to the comic situations and dialogues. There are witty one liners all through the film. In Ishq, there are all the elements of a family film. There are fun, action, drama and romance in the film. The director of Ishq was Indra Kumar and the story and screenplay was by Rajeev Kaul. Like many Bollywood films, there are many songs and dance sequences portraying the various moods of the characters. The dialogue of the film is by Tanveer Khan. The huge star cast of the film, Ishq has attracted many viewers who were eager to watch their favorite stars.

The star cast of Ishq comprises of Aamir Khan as Raja, Ajay Devgan as Ajay Rai, Kajol as Kajal, Juhi Chawla as Madhu, Johnny Lever as Johny Lever, Dalip Tahil as Harbans Lal, Sadashiv Amrapurkar as Ranjit Rai. There are many other characters in the film played by Deven Verma, Shweta Menon, Kamaldeep, Mohan Joshi, Deepak Shirke, Tiku Talsania, Sunil Dhawan and many more. The music of this film was a phenomenal success as the music was by Anu Malik.

The plot revolves around the four leading characters in the film played by Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgan, Juhi Chawla and Kajol. In the film, the four characters are shown to be great friends and are in love. Ajay is shown to be in love with Kajol while Aamir is in love with Juhi.

The plot of Ishq gets more interesting when Ajay and Madhu are engaged by their parents as both are from wealthy families. However their choices differ and they refuse to accept the marriage as they are in love with someone else. Since Kajal and Raja are not well off, the match is not accepted by the respective parents of Ajay and Madhu. Each parents try their best to draw the couples away from one another in order to get the two families united. There are misunderstandings created in order to separate the lovers by the means of false photographs showing Ajay and Madhu in intimate poses.

The story of Ishq continues from here with the lovers separating from one another believing in the authenticity of the photographs. The film however ends on a happy note with the clearing away of the misunderstandings and the lovers being united. The uniting of the lovers is the main climax of the film and there are traces of similarity with other Hindi films.
