Starring Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor in the lead roles, 'Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge' is one of the famous Bollywood comedy movies of the year 2000. The story of the movie 'Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge' revolves around Sapna (Karisma Kapoor), an innocent 19-year-old girl. She tries to please all three of her eccentric uncles (Om Puri, Paresh Rawal, Anupam Kher), each of whom has an idiosyncrasy.

Sapna (Karisma Kapoor), after her parents' death, has been brought by her three uncles. Uncle-number-one is religious-minded and spends most of his time in worshipping one or the other God. Uncle-number-two is an athletic fellow and his biceps start jolting for action at the drop of a hat. Uncle-number-three is fond of wearing colorful dresses and is very happy in dancing away the hours.

Sapna always wants to please her uncles and so she sings bhajans, learns dancing and even has a workout in a gym. The uncles also love her and look for a perfect groom for her so that she can settle down in her life. But Sapna runs away from home and joins a group of tourists on a holiday abroad.

There she meets Raja (Salman Khan) who is in this group. Initially, Sapna is not impressed by Raja. But then, as the story moves on, they get separated from the main group of tourists. Raja saves Sapna from a difficult situation and the girl realizes she is falling in love with him. Raja also responds to her love. They wish to get married once they return to India.

Raja is eager to ask Sapna's trio of uncles for her hand. But little does he know the dilemma that awaits him in this enterprise. The uncles are but hurdles between Raja and his ladylove. But the young man is also determined to achieve his goal. He decides to become the blue-eyed boy of the uncles and the story takes many an uproarious turn in the process. Finally it finishes with a happy ending when Raja and Sapna get married.

The music is promising in parts. Though there is an overdose of music, especially in the latter part, the choreography is smooth. Karisma and Salman match steps with comfort and enjoyment.

With a great sense of humor, the movie is typical David Dhawan entertainer. The foot-tapping music and the songs of the movie also made waves. David Dhawan definitely knows what will work and what won't. So take off your thinking caps, remove the garb of the discerning critic and enjoy 'Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge'!
