Dhol was released in the year 2007. The director of Dhol was Priyadarshan and was produced by Percept Picture Company. Dhol bears the trademark of Priyadarshan's comedy, which is irrational yet funny. It is inspired from Parda Hai Parda. You get enough doses of laughter and the film does not disappoint you. This movie will surely list itself in the successful films of Priyadarshan.

Plot of Dhol:
Dhol starts off with four friends. They are Goti (Kunal Khemu), Sam (Tusshar Kapoor), Pakkya (Sharman Joshi) and Maru (Rajpal Yadav). They are good at heart but do not have a focus in their lives. All of them want to make it big in their lives with minimum efforts. For this, they tried their hands in several short cut methods but faced immense trouble due to that. Finally they come to the conclusion that, the best way to end their misery is to marry a rich girl.

In the mean time, Kanchan, played by Tanushre Dutta arrives at their neighborhood. All the boys prepared plans to woo her and get married to her. But they came to know about a disturbing truth. They find out that Kanchan is in the locality to solve the mystery behind his brother's murder. Instantly they decide to help her to win over her heart. This leads to confusion and several comic situations develop along with the element of suspense, thrill and crime.

The film includes several hilarious situations. One of the funny moments of the film is when they went to avail a loan in exchange of gold jewelry from Tiku Talsania. Another comic event is when they push the car of Om Puri from a cliff. Your funny bones will be tickled to see the four friends trying to put off fire which is actually a religious ceremony taking place within the mansion.

All the four actors compliment each other. But Rajpal Yadav steals the show. With his dumbness, he mingles with the masses and gives out a brilliant performance. Sharman Joshi proves his comic timing again in this movie. Kunal Khemu and Tusshar Kapoor also prove their versatility as actors. Tanushree Dutta and Payal Rohatgi do justice to their roles. The other supporting actors such as Om Puri, Asrani and Tiku Talsania also performed well.

Pritam's music in Dhol is decent. The most popular song of the film is Dhol Bajake. The cinematography of Piyush Shah is impressive.
