Dhamaal was released on September 7, 2007. The director of Dhamaal is Indra Kumar. He himself produced the film. The film starred Sanjay Dutt, Ritesh Deshmukh, Javed Jaffrey, Arshad Warsi, Aashish Chaudhary, Asrani and others. Though Indra Kumar is often associated with serious romantic movies, he did a commendable job as a comedy director also. Dhamaal is a complete entertainer. The movie has innumerable hilarious situations and comic twists. It is slapstick comedy and not witty.

Plot Summary of Dhamaal:
The movie is based on the story of four friends who have nothing to do in life. The group includes Roy (Ritesh), Roy's friend Boman Contracter (Aashish Chaudhary), Aditya Shrivastav (Arshad Warsi) and Adi's brother Manav Shrivastav (Javed Jaffrey). The film traces the journey of these four idiots.

By sheer chance they meet Boss (Prem Chopra), a criminal. He met with an accident and tells the youths about Rupees 10 crore because he was about to die. He also reveals the secret to the men because they tried to help him, which is very uncommon in this cruel world. Prem Chopra mentions that the money is hidden in Goa's St. Sebastin Garden. Thus the rat race for the money began.

The film then progresses and innumerable hilarious circumstances developed. Kabir Nayak was in search of Boss for many years and when Manav blurts out about the huge sum of money he too joins the race. Even though Manav reveals the secret, Boman manages the situation by telling an incorrect place where the treasure was hidden.

In the course of their search for the money, they met few interesting characters such as Asrani and others. When they finally got the money, they donated it for philanthropic purpose. They all felt good about their decision, in spite of facing many troubles and difficult circumstances in getting the treasure.

Dhamaal is a treat to watch. It is bound to tickle your funny bones. Ritesh Deshmukh gave a natural performance and Javed Jaffery acted superbly. Arani, a veteran comedian, also impresses and entertains the audience with his comic timing. Sanjay Dutt, Ashish Chaudhuri and Arshad Warsi also performed well.

The film may not boast of excellent music, yet it suits the mood of the movie. The music directors of Dhamaal were Adnan Sami and Sanjoy Chowdhury. The dialogues are comic. Cinematography of the film is impressive. In total, Dhamaal is a true entertainer.
