Angoor was a comedy Bollywood film released in the year 1982. The plot of Angoor is similar to the comic play of Shakespeare, The Comedy of Errors. The director of Angoor is Gulzar and it was also written by him. The film was produced by Jai Singh. The wonderful music in the film was composed by the legendary music director Rahul Dev Burman. There are many songs in the films that went on to become very popular. The dialogues in the films evokes laughter and the case of mistaken identity creates more humorous situations. The film was very successful in the portrayal of the confusions faced by the characters due to the existence of the twin brothers.

The star cast of Angoor comprises of Sanjeev Kumar, Deven Verma, Deepti Naval, Aruna Irani and Moushumi Chatterjee. There are many other supporting star cast in the film who makes the plot concrete and interesting. The audiences are made to believe and share the confusions of the characters in the film adding to the entertainment element of the film. The plot of Angoor begins with two twins who were separated at birth and when they grow up, and come at the same place, there is utter confusion.

The story begins with Raj Tilak having two sons who are twins and are called by the same name because they look alike.

In Angoor, the family is shown to adopt another set of twins who also have the same name Bahadur. There is an accident met on their way and the parents are separated with each one having one set of the twins. Sanjeev Kumar plays the role of Ashok who is married to Moushumi who plays the role of Sudha. Bahadur played by Deven Verma is married to Aruna Irani who plays the role of Prema. Sudha has a sister named Tanu played by Deepti Naval. Apart from them the other Ashok is a lover detective novel lover while the other Bahadur is a lover of a country made liquor known as bhang. He is always in a state of intoxication due to his love for bhang.

The plot in Angoor intensifies when we see that the two Ashoks and Bahadurs come together in the same place. The wives cannot believe that the husbands are acting strange as they fail to realize that they are different people all together. Whereas the Ashok and Bahadur who are unmarried are confused at the friendly overtures of the women and also at their claim that they are their wives. It is only when that the two Ashoks and Bahadurs come together that the real identity of the twins are revealed.
