Qurbani is a very famous Hindi film set in the 1980 Indian scenario. Qurbani was produced and directed by Feroz Khan. The name of his production company was under FK International. Qurbani became extremely popular because of smart direction, urban setting, mind-blowing music and exotic foreign locales as well as up market images. The film also has some very popular numbers by Asha Bhonsle and Kishore Kumar.

Cast and Crew of Qurbani:
The film Qurbani stars well known actors of the day, such as Vinod Khanna, Zeenat Aman, Amjad Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Aruna Irani, and Amrish Puri.

In the film Qurbani Biddu was the music director for the famous song "Aap Jaisa Koi". This also marked the entry of the Pakistani singer Nazia Hassan to Indian films. The other songs and the background score were set by the famous pair Kalyanji-Anandji

The Story of Qurbani:


In the film Qurbani Feroz Khan plays the role of a thief named Rajesh. The thief is blackmailed by the villain Vikram played by Shakti Kapoor and his foul mouthed sister Jwala played Aruna Irani. Together they work for the crime boss Rakka played by Amrish Puri. Jwala is incidentally Rakka`s ex wife who was cheated by Rakka. He even stole her fortune and later divorced her. Jwala gets very angry and wants to avenge for her losses.

Meanwhile, Rajesh falls for a beautiful bar dancer Sheela played by Zeenat Aman. Rajesh`s best friend Amar too loves the same girl. Rajesh is also sought after by stalled by Inspector Amjad Khan.

At the end, Amar sacrifices his life and Rajesh marries Sheela. The goons are punished by law and the movie has a happy ending.

Critical Review of Qurbani:
Qurbani is a nice movie with memorable scores. The film also introduced us to the smart and beautiful Zeenat Aman who changed the image of Bollywood heroines. Some of the songs are popular even today.

Awards and Recognitions for the Movie Qurbani: The film Qurbani won a number of awards and recognitions. Nazia Hassan won the Filmfare Best Female Playback for the song "Aap Jaisa Koi". P. Harikishan won the Filmfare Best Sound award for sound editing in the film. Vinod Khanna was nominated as the Best Actor. Amjad Khan was also nominated for Filmfare Nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Kalyanji-Anandji duop were nominated for the Filmfare Nomination for Best Music. Kanchan was nominated for the Best Female Playback Kanchan for the song "Laila O Laila" in the film Qurbani.

The film Qurbani is one of the most watched Indian films.
