Story of the movie LoC Kargil

LoC Kargil is based on the Kargil War, which was fought in 1999 between India and Pakistan. It tells the story of the Kargil battle and the bravery of Indian soldiers who fought in subzero conditions in Kargil to defend their motherland. It also tells the story of the pain of the families of the Kargil martyrs. JP Dutta did extensive research to find out the facts of the war before writing the plot of the movie. He made the film as a tribute to the Indian martyrs who showed courage under fire and gave their lives in defending their countrymen. JP Dutta shot the film at an altitude of 14,000 feet from sealevel where only sixty percent oxygen was available.

The main characters of the movie are Captain Vikram Batra played by Abhishek Bachchan, Lt. Manoj Pandey (Ajay Devgan), Lt Balwaan Sigh (Akshaye Khanna), Lt Col Y.K.Joshi and Captain Anuj Nayyar. Rani Mukherjee (Hema) plays the love interest of Manoj Pandey. Kareena Kappor (Simran) plays the love interest of Saif Ali Khan, while Esha Deol (Dimple) is in love with Vikram Batra. Some of the scenes worth mentioning include the scene when Saif's blood smeared body is brought home and laid before Kareena Kapoor; the scene when Manog Bajpai is shown fighting even after several bullets hit his body; the scene showing Sunil Shetty walking up bravely to face the enemy with two big barrel guns.
