Plot of Jugnoo
Jugnoo depicts the tale of an orphaned man Ashok who is one of the richest men in the city. His wealth, however, fails to buy him all the happiness. Without parents, Ashok is a loner in search of human love and friendship.
When Ashok meets Seema, the daughter of a police inspector, the meeting is not a pleasant one. However, Seema gradually notices that, Ashok runs an orphanage to help children grow up. With Mahmood as his friend, Ashok proves his philanthropic intentions and impresses Seema considerably.
However Ramesh, Seema`s estranged fiancee does not take this in good light. He realizes that Seema has fallen for Ashok. In a rage, he approaches Ajit who is nothing but a leader of smugglers. Ajit knows a lot about Ramesh, played by Prem Chopra, including the fact that Ramesh is not the grandson of Rai Bahadur Jwala Prashad. The plot of Jugnoo however, is heavily dependent on the activities of a faceless robber Jugnoo. In the course of the plot, we realize that Jugnoo is none other than Ashok himself.
The story also unfurls that Dharmendra is the true grandson of Rai Bahadur Jwala Prasad. The climax reaches a point when Ashok has to reveal his true identity as the robber. Scintillating screen play and typical climax building elements are present in ample amount in Jugnoo. One also associates Jugnoo with the reel life love story of Dharmendra and Hema Malini. It is said that it was on the sets of Jugnoo, Dharmendra and Hema Malini met each other for the first time. The reel life story of Jugnoo soon took the shape of a real life love story.
