Farz is one of the popular Bollywood action movies, which is still talked about by people. The film was directed by Ravikant Nagaich and was released in the year 1967. Farz is one of the popular films that did moderately well in the history of the Indian cinema.
The film was produced by Sunderlal Nahata and was written by Vishwamitter Adil. While the lyrics of the songs were written by Anand Bakshi, the music was given by Lakshikant Pyarelal. The film casts Jeetendra and Babita. Aruna Irani, Agha and David were some other stars who acted in the film. Some other actors who appeared in the film were Sajjan, Manohar Deepak, Prakash, Prem Kumar, Ramesh, Mohan Choti, Kanchana, Mukri, Samson, Jaggarao and a few others.
The story starts with Gopal who is asked to investigate the death of another agent. Both Gopal and the victim are agents who worked for India's Secret Service. The victim who is killed in the film had some photographic evidence revealing the evil designs of the foreign terrorist leader. Gopal starts dealing with the case and tries to find the evidence which were gathered by the victim.
While Gopal tries to get into the truth, he falls in love with Sunita. Sunita introduces Gopal to her father. Gopal after meeting Sunita's father, becomes a bit apprehensive. He starts analyzing the background of Sunita's father and finds out that he is a gangster. The story takes its climax at this point of time. Gopal tells the secret to Sunita. Does she believe him? What happens to Gopal's plan?
The film was a low budget but it was a pretty successful one. The murder plot and the gradual revelation of the mystery were loved by people. Most of the film was shot in different parts of Delhi and Maharashtra.
Though Ravikant Nagaich started his career as a cinematographer in Telugu films, it was Farz that made him one of the most popular directors of Indian cinema. 'Mere Jeevan Saathi' and 'Surakshaa' are some other films that are remembered till today.
In the movie, Jitendra who plays the character of Gopal was seen in the role of a dashing secret agent. The story line, the drama, the action and the thrill that are involved in the story make it one of the most popular films of the industry.
