The Story of Dostana:
Dostana tells the story of two childhood friends, Vijay and Ravi. Vijay is an honest police officer and Ravi is a lawyer. Vijay encounters smugglers. Ravi, on the other hand, bails the criminals. Most of these people work under Daaga played by Prem Chopra.

Vijay and Ravi also fall for the same girl, Sheetal at different places and times. Eventually, they come to know of their love for the same girl. Both the friends are ready to sacrifice for the other. In the meanwhile, the villain creates a rift between the two friends, by a photograph.

This creates a lot of misunderstanding between the two friends, Vijay and Ravi. They become the bitterest foes of each other. A lot of things happen. There are lots of fighting sequences in the film. Finally, the film has a happy ending and the two friends reunite.
