Kaliram (Amjad Khan) is the baddie who torments the people of his village with the help of corrupt policemen and his wealthy merchant father (Utpal Dutt). The appearance of honest inspector Abhijeet Rai (Amitabh Bachchan) leads to the subsequent arrest of the baddie and his prosecution. In the meanwhile the honest cop married local girl Rajni (Rakhee) and moves his base to another place. The story takes an interesting turn when Kaliram returns after finishing his prison term.
