Naushad is one of the most Popular Musicians in Bollywood. He gave many hit songs which are still popular and receives good response even today. Facts reveal that Naushad was born and brought up in Lucknow. He studied classic Hindustani music under teachers as Ustad Ghurbat Ali, Ustad Yusuf Ali, and Ustad Babban Saheb. Naushad later moved to Mumbai in the late 1930s to try his luck as a musician. After initial struggle, he landed in a job as a musician in a studio orchestra.

He scored his first film in 1940. From 1942 till the late 1960s, he was rated as one of the top music directors in the Bollywood film business. Naushad worked with lyricists including Shakeel Badayuni, Majrooh Sultanpuri, D. N. Madhok, Zia Sarhadi and Barabankvi with whose co-operation he gave some great hits.
