Marriages of Bollywood Heroines with Cricketers are quite common in the sub-continents, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Sharmila Tagore and Pataudi: This beautiful couple got married on 27th December 1969. The affair started in 1965 when Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi got introduced to the noted film actress Sharmila Tagore through a common friend. Sharmila was afraid of the consequences back home. She is a distant relative of the Nobel laureate, Rabindranath Tagore.



Sharmila was discovered by Satyajit Ray for his Bengali movie Apur Sansar. In a few years time she gained momentum in Hindi movies. Pataudi was nicknamed Tiger and it was he who led the Indians to their first over-seas Test series win ever - against the Kiwis.

Though Sharmila and Mansoor faced oppositions from their respective families yet they moved on and married each other. They have three children Saif, Saba and Soha. Thirty-nine years of their marriage they are happy and their marriage is considered as one of the successful celebrity wedding.

Azharuddin and Sangeeta Bijlani: Sangeeta Bijlani is Azharuddin`s second wife. Both of them got married in the year 1996. Both Bijlani and Azhar faced challenges after Azhar was alleged in match fixing.

Mohammad Azharuddin was captain of the Indian Cricket team for most of the 1990`s. He is considered as the second best test captain after Sourav Ganguly. He was an elegant right-handed batsman and scored a total of 22 centuries in Test cricket. With first wife he had two sons.

Sangeeta Bijlani is the daughter of Motilal Bijlani. Bijlani won Miss India in the year 1980. She was also the National Costume Winner at Miss Universe contest in the same year. Bijlani made her Hindi film debut in the year 1989 with Tridev and acted in 16 other Hindi films. After her marriage to Azhar she quit acting.

At present Azhar and Sangeeta is a happy couple and is busy with their organization `Azhar Sangeeta Management Services`.

Rena Roy and Mohsin Khan: Reena Roy was a noted actress in Bollywood and is known for Nagin, Zakhme and Vardaan. Mohsin Khan is a Pakistani cricketer. Both of them married in the year 1983 but after few years things didn`t work up between the two and they filed for a divorce. At present their daughter Sanam live with Reena.
