The film received critical acclaim. Above all it helped Oberoi to bag the prestigious Filmfare Award for the category of Best Debut Male as well as for the category of Best Supporting Actor.
He further went on to act in more action related films. These films are "Road" and 'Dum'. He was highly appreciated for these films.
In the movie, 'Saathiya' made under the coveted Yash Raj Films banner he was paired opposite Rani Mukherjee (one of the best actress of Bollywod). Directed by Shaad Ali, the film did well at the box office. Once, again Vivek Oberoi, won great accolades for his performance. This film helped Vivek Oberoi to get nominated for the category of Best Actor for the Filmfare Awards.
In the film 'Masti' released in the year 2002, he starred opposite other well known actors of Bollywood such as Aftab Shivdasani and Riteish Desmukh. It's a fun film. The film went on to become a hit at the box office. In this movie, Vivek Oberoi, plays the role of a man, who gets embroiled in the complications related to the murder of the lady, with whom he had an affair.
The movies, 'Omkara', 'Yuva' and 'Kaal' all bear testimony to the histrionic talent possessed by the actor. It is just the youthful aura he exudes which makes him so adorable.
