Shahrukh Khan or 'The King Khan' as he is popularly known is a highly acclaimed Bollywood actor, producer and even a Television host. Winner of various films Awards in Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan is considered to be one of the most influential actors in Indian cinema. Born on 2nd November, 1965 in New Delhi, India Shahrukh Khan's parents were of Pathan ethnicity. Having fans all over the world, Shahrukh Khan is still one of the top most Popular Male Actors in Bollywood.
Shahrukh Khan attended the St. Columba's School where he was accomplished in sports, drama and academics and later took himself to the Hansraj College were he earned his Honors degree in Economics. After that he studied for a Masters Degree in Mass Communications at the Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. Shahrukh Khan started his acting career in the year 1988 appearing in the television series 'Fauji' playing the role of Commando Abhimanyu Rai and then appearing in the 1989 serial 'Circus'.
In the year 1991 Shahrukh Khan moved from New Delhi to Mumbai, were he made his first Bollywood film debut in 'Deewana' in 1992 turning it into a box office hit. Shahrukh Khan's debut performance won him the first Filmfare Award of his career as the Best Male Debut. Thus, started the long interesting film career of Shahrukh Khan, sending him to the top best male actor list of Bollywood. After numerous such commercial successes and delivering a variety of critically acclaimed performances as well, Shahrukh Khan won 6 Filmfare Best Actor Awards and numerous other such renowned awards and is still winning many more.
Some of the other significant box office success of this male Bollywood actor includes films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995) and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Veer Zaara (2004), Swades (2004), Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (2006) and more recently Chak De India (2007) and so on, and these are also some of the biggest Bollywood hits in the overseas market. Shahrukh Khan is said to have played some of The Unforgettable Characters in Bollywood, which people discuss even today.
Shahrukh Khan is also a successful producer and in 1999, he set up a production company called Dreamz Unlimited with Juhi Chawla and director Aziz Mirza. In the year 2004, Shahrukh Khan set up another production company called Red Chillies Entertainment and produced and starred in many of the movies. Besides Shahrukh Khan has also hosted a popular TV game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, the Indian version of Who wants to be a millionaire? in 2007 taking over from the original host Amitabh Bachchan. Madame Tussauds wax museum in London proudly presents Shahrukh Khan's life-size wax statue and he has also been chosen for the 'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres' (Order of the Arts and Literature) award of the French government for his "exceptional career".
