Salman Khan who is amongst the most popular male actors in Bollywood was born on December 27, 1965. His full name is Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan. He made his film debut in the movie Biwi Ho To Aisi in1988. His first blockbuster was Maine Pyar Kiya which released in 1989 and won him a Filmfare Best Debut Award. Salman Khan was honored with the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. One of the best things about Salman Khan is that he can effortlessly enact any role. Some of his popular films are Karan Arjun , Judwaa , Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya , Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Biwi No.1 , Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam , Tere Naam , Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and No Entry. His sole Hollywood release was Marigold: An Adventure in India with Ali Larter.

Salman Khan comes from a very respectable family where he is the eldest son of the renowned screenwriter Salim Khan and his wife Salma Khan. Bollywood's most unforgettable dancer and actress Helen is his step mother. Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, Alvira and Arpita are his siblings. The actor is known for his generosity in charities. His stunning looks and awesome physique had earned him a rank in the league of world's most good looking men.

On September 28, 2002, he was arrested with the charge of rash and negligent driving. On February 17, 2006, he was sentenced to one year imprisonment with the charge of hunting Chinkara, an endangered species. On April 10, 2006, he was met with a term of five year jail for the same reason. On October 2007, Salman is believed to have turned down Madame Tussaud's offer of creating his wax replica which could have been the 4th Indian actor to have a statue in the world famous wax museum.
