He loves writing and lyrics writing were more as a hobby than a profession. His dream was to become a journalist but he grew up to become a journalist. Vijay Akela is a young and cheerful writer. His Bollywood journey started with the movie Kaho Naa.Pyaar Hai by Rakesh Roshan. He further extended his career as a lyrist by writing lyrics for the movie Krissh by Rakesh Roshan. Before kick starting his career as a lyricist he also wrote for Roop Kumar Rathod's album Mohabbat Ho Gayee. He also wrote outstanding lyrics for Kumar Sanu's album Kehna To Hai.



Vijay Akela was so much influenced by Anand Bakshi that he wrote a book on him Main Shaayar Badnaam. The book comprises of collection of lyricist Anand Bakshi's songs. The book is a showcase of special quotes for Anand Bakshi by several eminent of film industry. Among them mention can be made of Subhash Ghai, Pyarelal, Yash Chopra, Dilip Kumar, Latha Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. He wanted to portray that something which matters in self satisfaction. He said Anand Bakshi should have achieved more than what he deserved in Bollywood. His book was launched by lyricist Javed Akhtar.
