Prasoon Joshi is one of the most creative directors in Bollywood today. He shot into fame with his breezy yet meaningful songs in the movie Hum Tum.

Prasoon Joshi was the creative director of McCann-Erickson for South Asia and South East Asia. He completed his MBA from a reputed institution. At the onset he started his career in the field of advertising. His advertisements have made a mark on the national and international advertisement arena and earned him the name, the "ad guru of India".

Among his well known advertisements is that of Chloromint, NDTV India, Asian Paints, Cadbury, Pulse Vacao Scooty, Polio Program, Close up, Bacardi Ponds and Thanda Matlab Coca Cola. The "Thanda Matlab Coca Cola" slogan increased the beverage advertising and brought the 2002 ABBY Awards for the best copywriter and the best Ad Campaign to Prasoon Joshi.



Prasoon Joshi is the only Indian who has the rare distinction of being honored with the Golden Lion Award at Cannes. Soon he was rated as one of the pillars of the International Advertisement Industry.

Prasoon`s creativity has been deeply influenced by his childhood years in the beautiful hill station of Garwhal. He grew up conversing with trees, birds and mountains while playing in the hills. The natural beauty of the region shaped his thoughts and ideas. And today his ideas get manifested in his wonderful creations.

Prasoon Joshi believes there is no formula to his creations and there is no way of knowing how and where an idea will come from. In fact, he adds, it is an idea which chooses the person to emanate from.

But Prasoon Joshi was aware that he could not just confine himself to the world of advertisement. His creative instinct had a lot to offer to the world of entertainment as well. Hoping to enrich the world of films he made foray into the Indian film industry in Mumbai. He started off writing lyrics for Hindi movies. And he met with instant success. His lyrics for a few well known movies have become highly popular. Today he is acknowledged as a great lyricist in the Indian film Industry.

Some of his best lyrics are Ladkiya kyon ladkon see nahin hoti, Rok sako to rok lo. Aab ke sawan aise baarse by Shuba Mudgal, and Duba duba rehata hai by Silk Route. He has received the Screen award for best lyrics from the film Hum Tum.
