Yash Chopra is one of the leading Film Makers in Bollywood. Yash Chopra, also known as Yash Raj Chopra, was born on 27th September in the year of 1932 in Lahore in, the then, India. He was the youngest among the eight children of his father. Initially Yash Chopra worked for I. S. Johar, but later he started working for his brother, Baldev Raj Chopra who was a film journalist. Afterwards he set up Yash Raj Films, his own film production company. Yash Chopra utilized his first directional opportunity in the film, Dhool ka Phool.
`Daag` was the first film by Yash Chopra, that was published with the Yash Raj banner in the year of 1973. Then follows the long and successful career of film making. The making of some unforgettable films are credited to him. Some of such immortal films are Daag, Joshila, Deewar, Kabhi Kabhie, Kaala Patthar, Silsila, Chandni, Lamhe, Parampara, Darr, Dil to Pagal Hai and Veer- Zaara.
He has also produced films which are no less in number. The production of as many as thirty six films owes to Yash Chopra.
The most interesting thing is that Yash Chopra always reformed his style of film making, keeping pace with the trends that prevailed all About Bollywood.
In over the past three decades, the film industry in Bollywood has seen the methodical and artistic change of the trend of Yash Chopra films. Yash Chopra has been awarded with the Filmfare Award a number of times for being the best director. He got Filmfare Best Director Awards for Waqt, Ittefaq, Daag, Deewar respectively in 1965, 1969, 1973 and in 1975. He achieved Filmfare Best Movie Awards for Deewar, Lamhe, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai, Veer- Zaara in the years of 1975, 1991, 1995, 1997, 2004, 2006 and in 2007 respectively.
