Sachin Bhowmik

Sachin Bhowmik was a popular film maker and writer. He is still remembered in the history of Indian Cinema with great respect. Sachin Bhowmik is renowned more for his writings which were used in more than 70 films.

Sachin Bhowmik made his debut by writing script for Mohan Segal's 'Lajwanti'. It was released in the year 1958 and is one of the early films enacted by Nargis. In 1960s some of the popular films which were associated with this legendary person are like 'Ayee Milan Ki Bela', 'Jaanwar' in 1965, 'Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke' in 1969 and 'Aradhana'. 'Raja Rani' is one of the most popular films which he directed. The film starred Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore. 'Koi Mil Gaya' starring Priety Zinta and Hritik Roshan, 'Kisna' and 'Krrish' are some of the latest hits of 2000. Sachin Bhowmick throughout his career worked with many great producers of Bollywood. These include J. Om Prakash, Subhash Ghai, Nasir Hussain and Rakesh Roshan.

His hard work, dedication to work and his vast knowledge earned him many awards. These include:

He married Kalpana, an actress of yesteryears who was Shammi Kapoor's heroine in the film 'Professor'. Sachin Bhowmik is one of the legendary personalities in Bollywood. He is still remembered for his contribution to the Indian cinema.
