Kamal Amrohi is known as one of the finest and intelligent filmmakers in Hindi film industry. He was a script writer, dialogue writer and director. He was involved in some of the classic movies of the industry for which he is known as one of the best and famous filmmakers in Bollywood. Kamal Amrohi was married to legendary actress Meena Kumari.

Kamal Amrohi is a prominent name in the film industry. He had made his mark i various aspects of film making. You can also experience his talent in screenplay and dialogue writing. He was honored with several awards throughout his life. This extremely talented personality had made the Indian film industry proud. Kamal Amrohi, the famous filmmaker, also owned studios in Bombay, known as Kamal Pictures and Kamalistan Studio.

His full name was Syed Amir Haider Kamal. He was born in 1918 in a small city called Almora in Uttar Pradesh. He studied in Lahore where another interesting part of his life was started. He was discovered by the famous and legendary singer K.L. Saigal and asked him to join films. Then Amrohi came to Bombay, now Mumbai, with him and met Sohrab modi.

He also joined his Minerva Movietoon. He worked as dialogue and script writer under this production house and started his career. He worked under his production and involved in some of the masterpieces like Jailor, Pukar, Bharosa and Kardar.

After working as script writer, he moved in to film direction which was his ultimate dream. He made his grand entry in direction with Mahal in 1949. The casting of the film was involved Ashok Kumar and Madhubala. The film was also complemented with greatest songs of Hindi cinema by Lata Mangeshkar. Apart from Mahal, he also directed some other classics and masterpieces like Pakeezah and Razia Sultan. Pakeezah stars his wife Meena Kumari, who was a well known and talented actress of her times. Pakeezah proved to be the magnum opus of this perfectionist director. The entire film was conceived and made by him. There were some most melodious songs like Chalte Chalte, Thade Rahiyo O Banke Yaar, Inhi Logon Ne, Mausam Hai Ashiqana, Chalo Dildar chalo and Teer-e-Nazar Dekhenge.
