K. Asif, the famous filmmaker made the most successful and talked about movie, Mughal-e-Azam. This was the major breakthrough in his film career and he conceived the entire idea of the movie. He planned to make the movie in 1944 and finally succeeded to release it in 1960. Initially he wanted to make the movie with actors like Chandramohan and Nargis in the lead. But Chandramohan died in 1946 before the production could have been started. Then he had to reschedule the entire idea. He casted Dilip Kumar and Madhubala as the lead actor and actress and started making in 1951. Ultimately he was able to complete the movie with a struggle of nine years and released in 1960. it was an instant hit with a glossy and lavish look. The film involved lots of strain and difficulties and finally it proved to be a major blockbuster of the year. It broke all the records and considered as one of the masterpieces of Indian film industry.

The renowned personality was originally known as Karimuddin Asif. He was born in Etawah in Uttar Pradesh. The extremely talented person has a strong sense of movie making. He always wanted to be a a film maker since he has the genuine sense in various aspects of film making like production, direction and screenplay.
