Nidhi Dutta is also now following on her fathers footsteps. She has worked as an assistant director and has helped her father on the sets of Umrao Jaan. Though she had previously wanted to be an actress, her calling seems to be in direction. Though J. P Dutta is known for his temper in the film industry, he swears by his daughter's power over him.
