Dharmesh Darshan made his debut in the directional field with Lootere. The movie was produced in the year 1993. This great Indian film maker also wrote the story for the movie Lootere. Suneel Darshan, brother of Dharmesh Darshan produced Lootere which was a super hit movie at the box office.

Dharmesh Darshan in the year 1996 made his second film. The second film was Raja Hindustani. The movie featured 2 great Bollywood actor and actress namely Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor. The film Raja Hindustani was one of the biggest blockbusters of the 1990s. This movie also won several awards and critical acclaims. Darshan for this movie Raja Hindustani has won many awards like the Star Screen Awards. He has also won the Film fare Best Movie Award for this movie Raja Hindustani.



After the great success of Raja Hindustani, Dharmesh Darshan took a break from the profession for a period of about 4 years. In the year 2000, he made his come back with 2 releases. The 2 movies were directed as well as written by him. One of the releases was Mela. This movie featured Aamir Khan once again. However Mela became a flop at the box office. Moreover, Mela was also badly reviewed by the several critics of the Bollywood film industry.

Dharmesh Darshan`s second release was Dhadkan. Dhadkan did reasonably better at the box office. Moreover, because of this movie he won many compliments. Dhadkan was a good family movie starring Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty. Dharmesh Darshan`s movie Dhadkan nominated for several film awards. The movie was nominated for categories of "Best Story", "Best Film" and "Best Director".

Dharmesh Darshan has made a movie which was released in the year 2002. The movie was Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya with Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan. This movie was a remake of Ek Hi Bhool released in the year 1981.

The next release of Dharmesh Darshan was Bewafaa. This movie was released in the year 2005. It was said that this movie would do well in the box office because of its melodious songs and famous stars. Another release of Dharmesh Darshan Aap Ki Khatir released in the year 2006. This movie was a remake of the successful movie The Wedding Date.
