Abbas Mustan is a director duo comprising the Burmawalla brothers Abbas Alibhai Burmawalla and Mastan Alibhai Burmawalla. Since their debut in film making with the film 'Sajan Tara Sambharna' (1985), they have directed all their films together. Today the Abbas Mustan duo is considered among the best film makers in the Bollywood film industry.

Abbas and Mustan are renowned for being always dressed in white attire. The director duo is known for making excellent thrillers. Almost all the movies they have directed till date are thrillers. Films like 'Khiladi' (1992), 'Baazigar' (1993), and 'Humraaz' (2002) have established them as specialists in directing thriller movies.

Though Abbas Mustan started off by directing the film 'Sajan Tara Sambharna', it was with the film 'Khiladi' that this director duo came into the limelight. Starring Akshay Kumar, this film turned out to be an excellent suspense thriller and a runaway hit.



Abbas Mustan followed up the success of 'Khiladi' with the film 'Baazigar', which released in the year 1993. The lead role was played by popular actor Shahrukh Khan. Significantly, he played a negative role in the film but was the show stealer nevertheless. Once again a brilliant suspense thriller, 'Baazigar' had Kajol and Shilpa Shetty playing the female leads. The film turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year 1993. With the success of this film Abbas and Mustan established themselves as successful directors in Bollywood.

The latest release from Abbas Mustan is 'Race', released on 21st March 2008. Like most films directed by Abbas Mustan, this film too is produced by Tips Films. The film has an ensemble cast including Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, and Sameera Reddy. The film has got off to a great opening at the box office and in all likely would be one of the most successful films of the year 2008.

At present, Abbas and Mustan are busy directing the film 'Mr. Fraud'. Once again starring an ensemble cast, this film too promises to a great film and help Abbas Mustan climb up the ladder of success even more.
