Life of Rani Mukherjee:
Rani Mukherjee was born on 21st March, 1978 to a Bengali family in West Bengal in India. She hails from a filmy background as her mother is a former playback singer and her father, Ram Mukherjee, is a retired director. Debashree Roy, her maternal aunt, is a popular actess of Bengali movies and Kajol, her cousin, is one of the renowned Bollywood superstars. Sharbani Mukherjee, another cousin of Rani, also appeared in few Hindi Movies. Though Rani Mukherjee did not have to struggle much to step into Bollywood, she never hesitated to give her full efforts in each and every project. One of the prime reasons for her success is hard work and it is her jovial and caring nature that make her a favorite among her co stars, producers and directors.



Career of Rani Mukherjee:
After the huge success of `Biyer Phool`, a Bengali Film, Rani Mukherjee stepped into Bollywood with the movie `Raja Ki Ayegi Baraat` (1996). Though it failed to impress the audience, her acting skills got recognized. After completing her college, she appeared as the leading lady in the movie, `Ghulaam`. In this movie she starred opposite Aamir Khan. This movie went to become a big hit. Soon, she was flooded with offers from reputed directors. Her next film was `Kuch Kuch Hota Hai` with Shahrukh Khan. It is this movie that gave her the recognition, she was eagerly looking for. Though some of her films failed to make expected business, they established Rani Mukherjee as a leading actress in Bollywood. Some of her well known movies are `Saathiya`, `Baabul`,`Paheli`, `Tara Rum Pum`, `Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna`, `Hum Tum`, `Veer Zaara `and Yuva. One of the notable movies of her lifeime is `Black`, where she has portrayed the character of a deaf, dumb and blind girl who crosses every hurdle of her life with the help of her teacher. This film truly speaks volumes about Rani Mukherjee`s acting skills, which also features superstar Amitabh Bachchan, as her teacher.
