Born on September 21, 1980 Kareena Kapoor is a popular Indian film actress nicknamed Bebo. Belonging to the renowned Kapoor family, Kareena is the youngest daughter of Randhir Kapoor and Babita. Kareen Kapoor is the granddaughter of legendary actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor and the great granddaughter of Prithviraj Kapoor. Bebo, as she is fondly called in both Kapoor family and the film industry, is the younger sister of popular film actress Karishma Kapoor.

Kareena Kapoor did her schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai, and later she completed her studies from Welham Girls Boarding School in Dehradun. Later she studied commerce at the Mithibai College in Vile Parle. Kareena also completed a three months summer course in microcomputers at Harvard. This was the last step of her studies. She later returned to shape her initial plans of being an actor.



The initial approach came to Kapoor by Rakesh Roshan`s `Kahoo Naa Pyaar Hai`, which she rejected. Her career started with J.P. Dutta`s fairly successful Refugee that came in 2000 opposite Abhishek Bachchan. In this movie Bebo played the role of a Bangladeshi girl who fell in love with a young man who is engaged in all kinds of illegal activities of taking civilians to Pakistan.

Awards Won:

For her much acclaimed works in many films Kareena also won several awards. She got the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award for Refugee. She was also nominated for Filmfare Best Actress Award for one of her finest movies Ashoka where she played the role of Kaurwaki. Later in the year 2003 Kareena Kapoor won Filmfare special performance award for her much acclaimed acting of a prostitute in Chameli. Kareena also won Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance for her role played in Dev. In the year 2006 Kareena won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance in Omkara. She was also nominated in the category of Filmfare best actress for the same movie. In the year 2007 her strong presence made her nominated for Filmfare Best Actress Award.
