Esha Deol is an Indian actress who has gained popularity after working in Bollywood films. She is the elder daughter of Dharmendra and Hema Malini, the famous couple of Bollywood. She was born on November 2, 1982. Esha Deol is the half-sister of actors Bobby Deol and Sunny Deol and cousin to actor Abhay Deol. Her younger sibling, Ahana Deol is planning to enter Bollywood as a director and not as an actress like the rest of her family.
Esha Deol attended Jamnabai Narsee School and there she excelled at soccer. She is also an exponent of Bharatanatyam dance. She received her training from her mother, who is a famous dancer. Esha is also known as a fitness fanatic. She boasts of extreme physical strength and stamina. She is known to speak Tamil fluently.
Esha Deol has received various awards in her career, which proves that she is an actor of great calibre. In the year 2002, she won the Filmfare Best Debut Award for Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe. In the same year she had also won the Star Screen Award Most Promising Newcomer - Female for Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe. She had won the Bollywood Movie Award - Best Female Debut for Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe in the year 2003.
Esha Deol's debut film was "Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe" which did not do well at the box office. However, her performance was noticed. She starred in a number of films in the next two years, but none of them did well in the box office. Her first big hit with "Dhoom" in the year 2004.
"Kaal" which was Esha Deol's second hit which was a joint production of Karan Johar and Shahrukh Khan. Boney Kapoor's "No Entry" was her next hit film, which was known as the highest grosser of 2005. She was also an important part of the action thriller "Dus". She is also set to star in her mother's next directorial venture with Rekha and Abhishek Bachchan. This will be the first in which she and her mother will be starring together.
