All three brothers have romantic inclinations towards Kamili, Sheela and Renu. Brijmohan had been in love with Kamini, but unfortunately she decided to marry someone. After ten years Jagmohan and Manmohan fall in love with Sheela and her friend Renu respectively. As luck could be Renu's marriage was arranged with some other person named Prakashchand who happens to be the brother of Raja Hardayal Singh an influential person. Manmohan recognizes Prakashchand as a killer and tries to stop him from marrying Renu. Subsequently Renu's dad Kishinchand, was abducted. The motive was to force Renu to marry Prakashchand. In the movie Manmohan & Renu had to go through a real tough time. Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi is a film that depicts the love, desperation as well as depression of the two characters.
