Famous reel life couples attain a timeless and ethereal appeal.

There are many famous Bollywood reel life couples starting from Bhola and Bindu in Padosan in 1968 to Rahul and Puja in Dil to Pagal Hai in 1997. While most of the movies are romantic comedies ending in light hearted rejoicing and fulfillment there are others with a tragic ending which has given their on screen couples a special status. Some of the famous reel life couples in Bollywood are Rahul and Puja in Dil to Pagal Hai, Raj and Simran in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Raj and Rashmi in Qayamat Se Qayamat Taq, Prem and Suman in Maine Pyar Kiya, Raghu and Pooja in Dil Hain ki Manta Nahin, Raj and Madhu in Dil, Shekhar and Sanjana in Pyar To Hona Hi Tha, Rohit and Sonia in Kaho Na Pyar Hai, Rahul and Vaijanti in Hum Hain Rahin Pyar Ke, Ashok and Uma in Anupama, Amit and Chandni in Silsila and many others.

Since generations, most of the famous on-screen Bollywood couples are appreciated by a huge number of people. What is so fascinating about these couples, some of which despite the predictable plots of the films have also been able to spearhead successfully on to the box office, is still a matter of contention. Whatever may be the reason, some of the on screen couples in Bollywood have taken the audience to an alluring fantasy world that have yet remained appealing to successive generations.

Most of the famous reel life couples are quite young. Raj and Simran in DDLJ, Rahul and Puja in Dil to Pagal Hai, Raj and Rashmi in Qayamat Se Qayamat Taq are striking in their youthful appearance and naivety giving them the instant sympathy and adoration of thousands of Bollywood movie viewers. The simplistic storyline, also seen in some of the older films like Padosan starring Bhola and Bindu is also made memorable by rich and endearing songs. This is largely responsible for the eternal appeal of the reel life couples. Striking chemistry which is a combination of physical appearance and compatibility is seen in such pairs like Amit and Chandni in Silsila, Preetam and Anita in Mr and Mrs. 55, Suresh and Shanti in Kagaaz Ke Phool, Rajeev and Champa in Kashmir Ki Kali and others. In addition there is always that elusive charm of a couple that completes to set the silver screen on fire.
