Preity Zinta along with the other stakeholders visited the home ground of the Mohali team. They won the bid for the Mohali team in an auction last month for $76 million (approximately Rs.3.1 billion).

Preity Zinta is now recording a song for her IPL team. The actress has also roped in lyricist Jalees Sherwani and music director duo Sajid-Wajid. Famous Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi will lend his voice to the song.

Preity Zinta is very passionate about her team IPL and she definitely knows the business. This song will help pep up her team.

Preity Zinta had first met music director duo Sajid-Wajid and signed them up. After numerous meetings with lyricist Jalees Sherwani and Sajid-Wajid they finally zeroed down on the theme song for the Mohali team.



The music director duo felt that Daler Mehendi, who had worked with them in Atul Agnihotri's director venture Hello, was the right choice for the song. Preity Zinta loved the idea of having Daler Mehndi sing the song and recently recorded it at a studio.

Preity Zinta was so happy with the song that after the recording she gave a gold coin and a letter of appreciation each to music directors Sajid-Wajid, Daler Mehndi and Jalees Sherwani.

Preity Zinta's team includes Irfan Pathan, S. Sreesanth, Yuvraj Singh, Piyush Chawla, and Ramesh Pawar along with some international players like Kumara Sangakkara, Bret Lee, Ramnaresh Sarwan and Mahela Jayawardene among others.

Former Australian cricketer Neil Maxwell has been appointed as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the India Premier League's (IPL) Mohali team.

Neil Maxwell, who represented Australia 'A' as well as New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria state teams was an all-rounder and will be part of Mohali's core management group and which will oversee the operations and work towards the team's brand building.

Neil Maxwell has valuable experience to offer in marketing and communication. He has worked in various administrative and marketing capacities with Cricket NSW, the Melbourne Cricket Club, Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Lord's and New Zealand Cricket. The Mohali team has already roped in Australian player Tom Moody, who previously was coach of the Sri Lankan side for training their cricketers.

Bollywood star Preity Zinta was the focus of all attention during the press conference as she and her boyfriend Ness Wadia unfolded their plans about the future of the team.
