In the department of direction of workshops and trainings are conducted by famous film personalities like Aparna Sen, Goutam Ghose, Anjan Dutta, Sohag Sen (H.O.D), Moloy Bhattacharya, Samik Bandopadhyay, Suvro Roy, Sudipta Acharya among others. Adinath Das is the advisor of the department while Asijit Ganguli is the guest trainer.

In the department of acting Soumitra Chartterjee, Ashok Mukhopadhyay, Sohag Sen Koushik Sen, Atanu Ghosh, Madhuchhanda Ghosh, Koushik Bose, Anjan Deb, Suranjana Dasgupta and others hold classes and conduct training sessions. Leading actress Indrani Halder is the head of the department. In the department of editing Suvro Roy, Sabuj Konar and Sudipta Acharya take classes and conduct training sessions. Events organized by KFTI, Kolkata

Kolkata Film and Television Institute, Kolkata has organized a host of events till date. A winter workshop was conducted in the year 2003 for the children by Ashoke Mukhopadhyay, Swatilekha Sengupta, Anjan Deb, Suranjana Dasgupta as well as Indrani Haldar. In 2005, a seminar was conducted by Management Guru Arindam Chowdhury, at The Park. In 2006, a function was held at Rabindra Sadan for the felicitation of Sabitri Chatterjee, Sharmila Tagore and Aparna Sen.

Productions of KFTI

KFTI, Kolkata has launched several productions till date like the talk show "Sangwe Indrani,"a telefilm "Destiny" featuring actors like Rajesh Sharma, Badshah Moitra and Indrani Haldar. The film was telecast on Zee Bangla. The telefilm, Haranya Kiunji has been enacted by the students of KFTI. One of the latest productions of the institute has been "Abhinoy Ebong". The program features Dhritiman Chatterjee as the anchor and the director is Sohag Sen. The students studying or having passed out from the institute have been acting in a large number of films like "Priyotama," "Raatporir Rupkataha," "Sangharsha," "Kalbela" and Aparna Sen's "Japanese Wife" among others.
