Indian movies is a huge collection of various movies made in different languages each year. Among others Bollywood is quite famous. Bollywood is the name given to the Hindi Cinema based in Mumbai, India. It is the place which gives birth to Indian movies. Most of the times it has been mistaken as people consider it the whole Indian Cinema. It is only a part of Indian Movies, which includes several regional film industries based on languages. Bollywood got its name by combining the initial letter B of Bombay and Hollywood.
Bollywood is the major source of entertainment for Indian public. Every Friday arrives with two or three film releases, which make the Hindi Cinema as the largest film producer in the world. Bollywood movies are full packed with music and family drama along with some other elements such as emotion, romance, tragedy and what not. Indian movies represent India Internationally. With increasing overseas fans it has become a source of entertainment worldwide.
1899 marked the presence of Bollywood with the screening of first Indian short film. Bollywood produced around 200 films in a year by 1930. Bollywood entered into the era of talkies in 1931 with the release of Alam Ara, one of the most critically acclaimed films. Post after the Independence, Hindi Cinema encounters the golden age because most of the critically acclaimed movies of Hindi Cinema were made in between 1940 to 1960. Modern Cinema presented some most romantic and everlasting movies. With melodrama being caught the nerves of Indians, there is a realistic cinema running parallel to it by some of the great directors.

Dance and music are the soul of Indian movies. You will find actor and actresses roaming around the trees with 6 to 8 songs in each movie. Indian movies in now focusing on parallel cinema (art cinema), the trend of which is set by one of the Bengali art films.
Indian Movies has a huge impact on Indian lifestyle. Young generation follows their favorite actors and actresses in each move of their life. Other than that Indian movies are so effective in everybody`s life that you can`t even  imagine. Cinema has been a dominant medium in India because of the sheer size and reach of its indigenous film industry. Each year around 800 movies are produced in India, which is highest in the world. This shows the love of the Indian public towards Indian movies. Indian movies specially take the privilege to show various emotions onscreen, which are not discussed in India openly. The future of Indian movies seems to be even brighter as top names of Hollywood are investing in it.
