FEELING BLUE & OVERCOMING IT

Submited by- seemrarabus on 2010-08-03 09:20:03    HEALTH

My friends and I came to the conclusion that we were not really depressed to seek medical help. We assumed it was the age factor that made us feel blue and decided to take action. When we met we found out that wed fallen into our monotonous routine. One was a homemaker. Having married right after college, her son was away studying in a different city. With her husband being busy, she got addicted to the television. She got her cable connection removed and was initiated into art shows, documentary screenings and public lectures by another friend... Fitness women

Submited by- heawnone18 on 2010-07-30 04:14:08    HEALTH

A new wave, a new beginning needs a fit woman in all respects. When we talk about fitness women the traditional view is about the physical fitness of women. But there is more to fitness. We have to be consciously aware of the fact that as a human being we are not just the physical self but we are a unified wonder of nature encompassing the body, the mind, the heart and the soul. Unless we are fit at all these levels, we cannot create a harmony in the universe that is within us. If our inner universe is not fit, then we radiate a negative vibrat... Read More...

I am a student living abroad. I visited India last week(just for a week) for the first time since i left India. While on my way to India,I had a mixture of feelings like how i would feel when i reach India, meet my family and so on and so forth. But I was perfectly fine in India, did not miss any of my friends, did not feel overwhelmed too by the family love and affection. The day i left India, my feelings were neutral too :)After reaching here, I do not miss India or my family. Am fully fixed with the routine friends and roomies. When I am in ... Read More...

How often do we act in complete ignorance and haste, when caught in a critical situation? It happens to the best of us, when it comes to medical complications of a loved one or oneself. How important is it to exercise one?s common sense, seek a second opinion or just be aware? Experience has taught me, that these are the three most important things when caught in a medical emergency!A few years ago, my husband lay in hospital, awaiting a by-pass surgery. With two days to go, the hospital authorities were conducting the various routine tests req... Read More...

Monday Morning Blues -Amritha

He hit her black and blue but her darker skin hid most of it. She had luxurious black hair that cascaded down her back in a waterfall of silk, he loved to wrap his wrist around it and pull, sometimes in a heady embrace that resulted in ecstasy, sometimes in an effort to break her head open. She loved him. They met in computer class, a wasted effort to learn something that paid well. She went on to work as a receptionist for a accountant and he worked erecting huge billboards along the roads of the city. They would travel every Saturday to the a... Read More...

GODS SENSE OF HUMOUR

Submited by- zoommonnani on 2010-05-31 03:08:11    HEALTH

When I wake up everyday I thank God for the new day. But suddenly, even to me, my prayer has a new meaning. For it is Gods grace that my husband is with us to see each day. I thought my husband might have problems at a later stage because of his smoking habits; but not a cardiac arrest at forty! Id started praying fervently only a few months back that my husband should quit smoking. The other day I chided my husband for smoking too many cigarettes. My son who was having his bath overheard the conversation and went around holding a placard that ... Read More...

I?ve just got back from a holiday, with my two kids aged 4 and 6. It was a blissful period of rest and recuperation and getting some of my thoughts in order. The last 3 years have been Hell. Court appearances, divorce proceedings and constant battles with my ex-husband sapped me of all my energy.Looking back, I feel I was constantly struggling. Struggling to appear strong and optimistic, keeping my sanity, trying to make ends meet, trying to be a single parent to little kids who never understood any thing of what I went through. It was hard to ... Read More...

There was a child who actually asked from the consultant, should we respect our elders??He said very amazingly, NO. kid said, thank you. You know what was the importance of this line for that kid. Actually she was undergoing sexual harassment form one of her elder relative. She knew something was wrong, but she also was taught from the very beginning like all of us that RESPECT YOUR ELDERS. Thats why she never actually opened her mouth agai... Read More...
