Business Process Outsourcing is the new buzz word! One of the most people intensive industries in India today! I believe its the people who make an organization and this is so true about BPOs. >Having worked in a BPO for over four years, I feel training is the most important part and is required not only at the beginning of ones career, but also intermittently, to ensure efficiency of the organization. BPOs recruit the largest volumes today and they end up spending a large amount on training. Some people feel this is a waste and in stead the employees should be paid better, but I disagree.
Training is not only about work. What is more important is training employees in soft skills and personality development. A confident employee is an asset to the company eventually. Many companies invest in integrating the organizations goals with the personal ambition of the employee.
I particularly enjoyed the training in stress management, motivation, leadership skills and time management. Of course, initially every employee goes through accent, voice and language training. I feel this inculcates a sort of a discipline amongst the employees which is so important for the organizations success.
People feel a BPO job is a cake walk! Its not. Like any other profession, working in this industry requires specialized training to build a valuable team. Only the tough last!
