I thought I shouldnt pen my thoughts when Im feeling low. But the urge to write got the better of me. Sometimes I feel so low that I dont feel like doing anything. No, its not PMS. And Ive not had a tiff with my husband or neighbour. I checked my thyroid and hormones following my gynaecologists advice. Negative. Then what is the problem? Dont know.
I called my friend in Bangalore and told her that I felt low once a while. I too feel so at times, she said. She has an interesting job with a hefty salary, friendly colleagues, loving husband and kids. She admits she has nothing to complain about. Then we told another friend. Back and forth went e-mails to Toronto, California, Delhi and other places. And you know what? Each one said that she felt low at times without rhyme or reason. All of us are nearing forty and most of us noticed it only in the past one or two years. One friend had gone for counseling; but it didnt help beyond a point. Thankfully this doesnt last more than two days. It is not severe depression either. Ill tell you how we try to cheer ourselves up.
