In order to remove the stains off the various pans, utensils and other cookware, there is a very effective solution. Make a solution of borax and water and soak the utensils in it. The stains will go at the first instance.
If the jars, bottles and glasses look untidy, then the best way to rinse them is to fill them with warm water and adding a few drops of ammonia in it. After an hour, wash them in hot water. A solution of 2 cups vinegar mixed with hot water can also be an effective cleaning solution.
The shine of silver can be brought by rubbing it with a potato dipped in baking soda. The water in which the potatoes are boiled can also be kept aside in order to rinse the silverware.
It is not a good idea to put grease down the sink. It clogs the outlet pipe of the sink. If anyway the mischief is already done then put hot water mixed with dish soap through it. It will degrease the outlet well. Drain down cup of baking soda followed by cup of vinegar through the pipe and then after few minutes put a pot of hot water through it. This will leave the sink absolutely clean.
If you want to clean the window of the oven then make a paste of baking soda with water. Rub it on the window and leave for 15 minutes. Wipe with a paper napkin and then clean with water.
Homemaking tips for washing:
In order to keep the clothes fresh and bacteria free, occasionally bleaching water can be used.
For removing stains of grease, a solution of thick salt water can be dabbed on the stain. More salt should be put than water. After sometime remove the paste and then rinse first with dish soap and then continue normal washing.
To remove strong stains from white fabrics, soak them for long hours in a tub containing cup of bleach and cup of vinegar. Then wash it in normal manner. Lemon juice can be put on the stain and then it should be set under sun. This is indeed an effective process to remove stains.
To prevent color running out of the fabric or color getting faded, add salt in water, dip the clothes in it and wash after sometime.
Blood stain should always be rinsed with cold water. Hot water set the stain.
General Homemaking tips:
Flush some yogurt in the septic tank, once in a month; it prevents clogging of all forms.
If something falls deep down the sink, reach it with a crochet hook.
Ask help from the kids while dusting. Tell them to wear long socks on their hand; their small hands reach the tight corners easily.
