I am a non-resident Indian and being in a country where pencil thin women walk the ramp and impossibly structured women on tv and the print media, I felt so not beautiful unless I lost at least 15 pounds eventhough I was not fat or overweight.
Seeing all the dietary advices and reading up on the diets online, I devised my own plan:
1. Change morning coffee to tea for three days a week, switch to fat free milk (though it was initially difficult to palate, got used to it soon.)
2. Next stop, breakfast, I had rice or idlies or dosas or other standard south Indian breakfast earlier. I saw all those ads for cereals and their claims and settled on cereal with some fruit after trial and error and of course fat free milk.
