To tell the truth, the world to some extent exists through myths only. I mean, we hear to so many different myths while growing up.
Most myths are however harmless and are mainly used to teach rowdy youngsters of this generation some manners.
However, there are some myths, which should be clarified at the first chance that you get, because they have been proven to be really detrimental.
For one, the world is full of myths about pregnancy. Apart from about 1 of truth in such myths, the rest is, forgive my language, utter crap.
For starters, late pregnancies are not always as hard as has been proclaimed for so many ages.
In fact, some ladies do end up getting pregnant way into their lives and their babies are perfectly healthy.
Nevertheless, the topic ladies and gentlemen for this discussion is myths about weight loss.
Believe me; nothing can be more dangerous or detrimental to your health and to your well-being as a whole than certain myths, which are flashed by various people or books at some point of the time or the other.
In fact, I would strictly advise celebrity diet crazy people to please review what they are about to do very carefully.
After all, we being the society in general really need to lay some ground rules before we take a plunge into something stupid.
The problem with modern times is that so much information is available that you are truly spoilt for choice. The next set of problems that presents itself is that, very few, if any at all, go back and actually confirm or cross check the information that you are about to act upon.
The first weight loss myth that you should break is that; eating like a prince during the day and like a pauper at night will serve you no good. Like I said, you never verify facts, do you?
Starving yourself at any part of the day and then stuffing your face when the proper time comes will only add to those excess pounds. After all, the idea is to curb that hunger of yours with something healthy. Unless you eat in moderation every three to four hours throughout the day, those measures will not turn out to be your best friends.
The next comes about skipping meals. I mean, come on folks, does it not sound ludicrous to even your own ears? Besides the obvious acid formation, which adds to your body weight, the next time when you get hungry and decide to eat, you will surely end up gobbling everything in sight.
Agreed that you are more of a night person than a day person. However, if losing weight is really your mission, get some sleep folks. Studies have clearly shown that not getting enough sleep is duly related to your weight gain as well.
Not just sleep, studies have also shown that factors like stress, depression, fear and apprehensiveness makes a person gobble more as well. The simple reasoning is that an angry person is undoubtedly a hungry person and so such a situation will see you grabbing anything within sight and chewing through all the food.
Stress is especially one thing, which is bound to attract a lot of chocolates and cakes, and as we all know, these are not healthy options.
However, that does not mean that you have to give up on your favourite foods and fizzy drinks entirely. In fact, do not give them entirely up. The trick is to cut back on them and eat them in moderate amounts twice or at the max, thrice in a month.
Do not forget the magical liquid call water. Bust myths such as you will gain weight if you drink too much at night. Gallons of water should figure somewhere into your chart because proper defecation is also a tool which will help you to lose weight.
