It's the season of light, of colours and yes, BRIGHT GLITTER!!! Hot-this-season glitter polish is glam only until it's time to take it off - then get ready for a serious struggle. Saturate a cotton ball with pure acetone and let it sit on the nail for a full minute to soften the glitter polish before sliding it down the nail.

Counteract the drying effects of acetone by slathering nails, cuticles and feet with a rich hand cream. But, it is the hottest thing going nevertheless. Every brand has some kind of glitter shades available, from our own dear Elle 18 to the new Miner's collection that have hit the stands these days. For some funky variation, try a base coat of some solid colour and then jazz it up with some glitter.

And there are bottles to choose from! Glitter comes in showers of just dots, dashes, little splashes of stars, hearts, the works! So, what are you waiting for? Get some more glitter this season into your life, now right at your finger tips!

While dramatic red looks great on toes, dark shades often leave a yellowish stain on nails, a result of pigment from the polish soaking into the nail. Get your nailbeds back in the pink with a bleaching paste made from equal parts of baking soda and peroxide.

Apply a drop of the paste to the top of each nail. Then scrub vigorously back and forth with a nailbrush until stains are gone.

Pale nail lacquers make for chic pedicures, but after a few days, light colours turn dull and yellow. Prevent the sun's rays and chlorine from stealing the shine from your pedicure by topping it off with a topcoat the night before you hit the beach or pool. What you need to do is change polish completely every three days.
